Meal Payment Process Clarification: We have learned that some families may be misunderstanding our meal payment process and policy. Most IMPORTANT to understand: If a student's balance is $0 or lower, he/she WILL be served the daily meal (breakfast & lunch). This year, we are asking families to make all attempts to maintain a positive balance. If the balance is below $0, ONLY second entrées and a la cart items will be limited. Please pass this along. We do not want families to be worried about their student's needs being met. Nutrition is needed for brain power! Again, we will work with any and all families who may be need extra support. Contact your school office for assistance.

UCSD Student Transportation has revised the M-Th afternoon schedules for 4th - 12th grade students. You can find the schedule at UCSD.NET under menu-parents-student transportation or at this link: https://core-docs.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/2731/UCSD/4723472/M-TH_Afternoon_Transportation_Routes_and_Schedules.pdf The only other change in schedules is for the Amaknak stop. Students here will now be on the RED vehicle. Morning pick-up time will be 7:59 AM. This change was made out of caution as the Green vehicle passenger numbers were close to the maximum and the Red vehicle has excess space. If there are known delays in departure from the schools greater than 5, a Thrillshare alert will be sent out to help with better communication. Thank you, Kim Hanisch, Supt.

UCSD Student Transportation: UCSD Families, Thank you for helping us get your students to school this morning, on-time and safely! I apologize for the delays in getting many of the 4-12th grade students back home as scheduled. The number of students wanting to ride surpassed any numbers from last year and threw our schedule into a bit of a scramble. Most importantly, we did get them home safely. Thank you for your understanding. With what we learned today, we may be making quick changes to our afternoon 4th-12th grade schedule tomorrow. Although we hoped to wait until Friday to make any changes, the numbers we faced today seem to require immediate attention to our plans. I will be meeting tomorrow at 11:00 to consider options. Immediately following, I will send out updates for the afternoon drop-off times. If we make no changes, I will let you know that, as well. Thank you ! This is going to be a great school year! Kim Hanisch, Supt.

Eagle's View Elementary School is OK. Fire alarms alerted the Unalaska Fire Dept. around 11:30 pm. As they arrived, there was much smoke and high temperatures inside the school. The source was found to be an AC unit located in the ceiling area above the server, and Fire Chief Ben Knowles believes most damages were limited to just the AC unit. A huge thank you to the entire Unalaska Fire Dept. Their quick response and hard work throughout the late night and early morning made the difference. If you see a fireman or public safety officer today, give them a shout out of appreciation.
