Last week, 3 of our UCSD board members participated in the AASB Legislative Fly-in. Not only were we able to meet with several legislators and join a variety of committee meetings, we also spent much time learning more about education related bills and the power of advocacy.
Most importantly, Senators and Representatives ARE listening to the voices of their constituents. We ask that you call, write, email or text any and all Legislators, as well as our Governor supporting the need for a SOLID increase in education funding within the foundation formula (not 1-time funding). UCSD, also, supports 2 bills related to the state retirement system and the internet for schools bill.
