The UCSD School Board, and myself, are seeking input for the 2025-26 School Year Calendar.
Below, you will find links to the 2024-25 adopted calendar, as well as links to a proposed 25-26 Version A, Version B and Blank calendar template. We ask that you provide feedback on the two proposed versions and/or create a new version using the blank template.
Per the 2022-25 Negotiated Agreement, the school year calendar must include the features below.
189 teacher contract days, which include 6 paid legal holidays
175 student contact days (including two full days per semester – 4 days total - not meeting the “minimal day in session” requirement for Parent-Teacher conferences.)
Recognizing that Negotiations in the spring of 2025 may change requirements, the student contact days in Versions A and B are proposed at 173, making adjustments to 2 of the 4 P-T days currently not meeting the "minimal day in session" requirement. The State requires a minimum of 170 student days.
5 professional development days (teacher in-services)
3 professional workdays (2 days must be prior to the opening of school, and 1 day must be after the last student contact day)
Please share your ideas with any of our current board members and/or myself (khanisch@ucsd.net or 581-7706) to be discussed during the Jan. 18th board meeting. These suggestions will help us develop a proposed calendar for adoption during the Feb. board meeting.
