Welcome to the Superintendent’s page! With pride, I would like to introduce myself as the Unalaska City School District Superintendent. I was born and raised in the beautiful farm country of South Dakota and then ventured north to find Alaska and make it my home for the past 22 years. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, working with wood, or getting lost in a good book. My journey in education began right after I earned my teaching degree. Since then, I have served in various roles, including middle and high school science teacher and basketball coach, statewide new teacher mentor, curriculum coordinator, principal, director of instruction, and Assistant Professor with the UAS Educational Leadership program. Now, as I embark on my second year as Superintendent with UCSD, my commitment to students and their learning remains at the heart of everything I do.

As UCSD Superintendent, I am dedicated to working with our dynamic community to provide learning experiences that inspire everyone to find their unique passions and rise to the challenges in their journeys. Together, we will do everything possible to ensure that every student reaches their highest potential. We will provide a range of learning opportunities, set high expectations for all and provide the support needed so that every student can achieve their best. However, we can't do this alone. I welcome everyone to get involved in our students' learning and share insights to help us improve and grow. My door is always open, and I look forward to working with each of you to prepare our students for their future.
