Job Description:

UCSD is looking for a person who is able to substitute in any position in which a regular employee is absent and responsibilities need to be covered.

• This person must be adaptable to the needs of the district.

• Daily school location will be provided each morning by the UCSD registrar

• Roles may include substituting for any of the following (listed in priority for determining placement):  classroom teacher, SPED intensive need paraprofessional, SPED general classroom paraprofessional, general education classroom paraprofessional, office clerk, kitchen staff, librarian

• If no substitute is needed for the day or part of the day, this person will provide support where needed 

• Training will be provided

Compensation:

• Full-time;  7.5 hours/day (this includes a 30 min lunch)

• Classified Salary Schedule: $20.67-24.85/hour depending on education and experience.

• Benefits include health insurance and enrollment in Alaska Public Employees Retirement System.

Requirements:

• Possess or be eligible for Alaska Type A teacher certificate with an endorsement in elementary education.

• Experience in differentiating instruction and teaching English language learners preferred.

• Experience or education in literacy instruction preferred.
