A Message from the Principal
As September is in full swing, it is great to see students, teachers, staff, and parents settling into the school routine. Walking the halls and visiting classrooms I see engaged students who are excited about learning and taking advantage of all the opportunities the school has to offer. I have a few suggestions to help get the year off to a great start.
For those students looking for a little extra help on homework or perhaps for a quiet place to study please consider our after school study hall. These sessions are offered for students in grades 5-12 who are looking for some extra assistance and time in becoming the best student possible. Students in grades 5-6 are able to attend study sessions with classroom teachers on Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30. Students in grades 7-12 are offered a study hall in the computer lab on Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30. Students in grades 7-12 are also welcome to attend Saturday Academic Lab is they are in a need of a place to get some extra work done. Please remember that all school rules apply during study halls and that this is meant to be a quiet opportunity for students who wish to work.
Another opportunity that is afforded students in our building is the chance to participate in co-curricular activities. These activities include many sports, clubs, and academic opportunities. Please remember that in order to participate in most of these activities students and parents must submit all forms prior to participation. These forms are available at www.ucsd.net and at the high school office for students in grades 6-8 and for students in grades 9-12 these are completed through Arbiter. Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions regarding these forms or participation in co-curricular activities.
Thank you again for taking advantage of all the opportunities our school has to offer. Go Raiders.
