Wendy grew up in Edmonds, Washington.  She enjoyed drawing in high school and college.  At the Institute of American Indian Arts in New Mexico she majored in print making.  Much of her college work, just like her early days of drawing with her family, consisted of learning by doing. Wendy says "My Aleut heritage influences me one hundred percent."  She enjoys painting pictures that draw from the Aleutian Islands and Aleut history.
