This mural was designed in 1994 by the students of the Unalaska City School under the direction of the Artist in resident program's visting artist, Julie Mathews.   Several different grades participated in its making, students did everything from molding the animals on the border to painting the main scene.  The mural depicts the front beach of Unalaska during the summer.
