Mr. Bear Visits the First Grade

The Fox in the Village

Ray Hudson has been dedicated to education and the arts in Unalaska since 1964.  Mr. Hudson began woodblock in 1973-74 when Nathan Jackson came to Dutch Harbor to teach a class in jewelry making and block printing.  He was only here one week.  "After I took the class I practiced by myself," Mr. Hudson said.  "You don't have to draw well to do a block, although it starts with a drawing. You never know if your final product will be what you first wanted," he explained. Mr. Hudson is known locally and statewide for his talents.
