KINDERGARTEN GUIDELINES

School will begin on August 22, 2007 for all students.

1. Morning Kindergarten begins at 8:30 a.m. and is dismissed at 1:00 p.m. Afternoon Kindergarten starts at 10:00 a.m. and is dismissed at 2:30 p.m. Parents will be notified of any time changes. Doors open at 8:00 a.m.

2. A.M. students can ride the bus to school in the morning, You will need to make arrangements to have your child picked up promptly at 1:00 p.m. Afternoon students need transportation to school at 10:00 a.m. Your child can ride the bus home when school gets out at 2:30 p.m. On Wednesdays. school Gets out at 2:05 p.m. for grades K-4. Bus service is provided.

3. Kindercamp at PCR is available Monday-Friday from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Morning Kindergarten children can attend and ride the 2:30 p.m. bus home.

4. The school breakfast program begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues until 8:30 a.in. The lunch programs for both morning and afternoon Kindergarten begins at 11:15 a.m. Breakfast with milk is $1.25 and hot lunch with milk is $2.50. Parents need to set up a meal account per child in advance at the beginning of each month (or twice a month) In the main office, if he/she is having cold lunch, he/she may buy fresh milk for 50 cents.

5. Your child's name needs to be printed on everything he/she brings to school (coats, boots, lunch boxes, and show & tell, etc.) Please continue to label items throughout the year. Help your child become familiar with printing and recognition of their first name.

6. Kindergarten students need tennis shoes and medium sized backpacks. For ease of tying if your child has lace tennis shoes, please get shoelaces that are flat, not round. These shoes need to be left at school with names on them. For safety during gym time, I insist children wear tennis shoes; sandals, boots, clogs, & high heels are not acceptable. Backpacks will be used to transport items such as papers, notes, books, and artwork hack and forth between home and school. School supplies such as pencils, glue, and crayons are furnished.

7. Kindergarten students have outside lunch recess when weather permits. Please dress your child accordingly with a warm coat, boots, and a warn, hat (remember to put your child's name on all outdoor items.) When the weather gets cold, we encourage parents to send an extra hat, mittens, and snow pants, to leave In your child's locker through the winter months.

8. Kindergarten students will participate in the school swim lesson program. Give your child opportunities to swim with an adult and become comfortable in the pool. Encourage him/her to put on and remove their own swimsuit, to shower, dry off, and dress independently, in the correct locker room. According to the Aquatic Center rules, children five years of age and older must use appropriate locker rooms.

9. Show and tell will be every Friday. Limit your child to items, which are not too fragile.
