Physical Education

 

Physical Education involves two elements: "physical" and "education". Each student is expected to play a part in the quest for lifetime fitness and health. My goal as the PE instuctor is to guide and instruct students in setting realistic and attainable goals, and to help build and maintain positive attitudes about living an active lifestyle.

Goals
*Develop teamwork, sportsmanship & social skills.
*Develop and demonstrate good Character.
*Acqure basic skills & knowledge of a varitey of individual & team sports.
*
Acquire Health & Fitness knowledge & improve your physical fitness level.

Rules
*No one has the right to interfere with anyone's safety, well being or learning.

Expectations
**DAILY**
Dressed-out
for PE: t-shirts, tennis shoes, & shorts or sweat pants.
Be punctual: Warm-up activities begin when the whistle sounds or you are tardy.
Put forth a good effort by trying your best at each activity.
Participate in all activities.
Attitude is everything!! Stay positive with yourself & others.

**SKILLS**
Demonstrate basic skills for all individual & team sports.

**FITNESS & NUTRITION**
Create a personal health plan to maintain proper nutrition and exercise.
Successfully complete the Presidential Physical Fitness tests based on personal improvement.

**ABSENCES**
To make up a PE day, you must do 30 minutes of exercise for each day missed or read a health article and write a summary.

**GYM RULES**

NO food, soda, chewing gum, candies or drink allowed in the gym during the school day. (water bottles are o.k.)

NO horseplay in the gym or locker room areas.

Clean, non-marking gym shes only on gym floor.

Display good sportsmanship at all times.

Stay off the bleachers unless they are pulled out for seating.

Treat all equipment properly.

Safety is everyone's responsibility.
