Samuel
The Principal's Pick for Student of the Week was Samuel for the following reasons:

  • Samuel is a hard working, attentive student, who is a great role model for his peers! He continues to be proactive in his education, earning the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates. Whether through the Unalaska City School Spelling Bee or Geography Bee, Samuel is unafraid to assert himself demonstrating an excellent work ethic. Mr. Cole, Principal
  • Sam is an outstanding member of our junior high band. As our lead trumpet player, he is a key member. Samuel is always on task, and works to the highest standard. Recently, Sam and two other students have been working on a composition for our junior high band. Sam is also a fantastic pianist, and he knows that talent must also come with self-discipline. Congratulations Samuel! Mrs. Duhan, Band Director
  • Samuel stands out as a young man intent on doing excellent work in his science classes. He delves into a project to grasp its depths so that he may then make decisions worthy of his time. He reports his discoveries and analyses with considerable detail, keeping a fine focus on the issues at hand. He has the marks of a young man going to into the sciences! Press on, Samuel! Mr. Paden, Science Teacher
  • Samuel is a wonderful student; he is intelligent, works hard, and always exceeds expectations. Even knowing that about him, I’m still impressed each time he turns in an assignment. In addition to his skills as a student, he also has a great sense of humor and a unique outlook on the world. I won’t be surprised to see his name in the news someday… as a bestselling author, an inventor, a world leader… and we can all say we knew him before he was famous! Ms. Wilson, English Teacher
  • Samuel’s work in both social and math is continually at the highest level. He is courteous to classmates and continually strives to not only get the work done, but to do it at the highest possible level. Samuel sets high standards for himself and all that he comes in contact with and is an outstanding role model for students and teachers alike at Unalaska City School District. Great job Samuel and keep up the great work. Mr. Wilson, Math and Social Studies Teacher
