The High School Academic Department selected Derick as Student of the Week for the following reasons:

• Derick is a motivated, hard working student who continuously goes above and beyond expectations on his assignments. He is also a gentleman and a positive role-model to his peers. Way to go Derick! - Mr. Sweenhart
• Derick is an outstanding student of science for many reasons: He has excellent attendance, attention to detail, thoughtfulness and he is curious about nature and science. Derick works hard on his class work and it shows in his mastery of the learning objectives and above average performances on evaluations. - Mr Gregory
• Derick is an outstanding student of mathematics. His work is prompt, detailed and professional. He is an excellent test-taker and is the master of one and two - variable equations. His courtesy and humor enrich my classroom! Keep up the great work! - Mr. Border
