Haleigh
The Junior High Department selected Haleigh as this week's Student of the Week for the following reasons:

  • Haleigh is an absolutely delightful student! She is incredibly mature and devoted to her studies. Haleigh provides an excellent contribution to the classroom synergy and manages to maintain a positive attitude at all times. She is courteous and respectful to myself as well as her classmates. The 8th grade certainly benefits from such an inspiring young lady! Larissa Nellis, English
  • Haleigh's dedication and committment to her schoolwork is phenomenal. She continually strives to improve herself in every facet of her education and remains focused on achieving at the highest possible level. Her approach to education serves as a shining example to all of the students at Unalaska City School District. Great Job, Haleigh! Mr. Jim Wilson Math/Social Studies
  • Haleigh's work demonstrates a high level understanding of the scientific principles she studies. She finds little purpose in accomplishing the minimum requirements, but seeks to excel in her work. Her genuine interest to understand the world she lives in draws her to make the best effort in science investigations as well as in science research through reading and writing. Jon Paden, Science
  • Need some typing done? Haleigh is the fastest student in the entire school - clocking a whopping 106 words a minute without a single mistake. What a remarkable accomplishment for an 8th grade student! It just shows what dedication and determination Haleigh has. She wouldn't have reached this goal without a lot of self-motivation. Way to go, Haleigh! Teresa Sweenhart, Business
