The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) is a federal law enacted by Congress to address concerns about access to offensive content over the Internet on school and library computers. CIPA imposes certain types of requirements on any school or library that receives funding for Internet access or internal connections from the E-rate program - a program that makes certain communications technology more affordable for eligible schools and libraries. As a school district receiving federal funding to pay a large portion of our Internet connection we are required to filter the Internet. Attached is a copy of the District's Internet Safety Policy. 

Below are the forms needed for each student to complete at the start of the school year, in order to have access to the District's computers.  Please take the time to read with your student the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and the Permission to Publish forms.  They should understand the responsibillities in using the District's Network and responsible use of the Internet. 

The District's Technology Use Plan is filed every three years with the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, Educational Technology.  Having an approved technology plan with the state of Alaska allows the school district to apply for eRate funds through the federally funded  Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) .  USAC is an independent, not-for-profit corporation designated as the administrator of the federal Universal Service Fund by the Federal    Click here for more>>>
