Heather Jones

Eagle's View Elementary Achigaalux Principal and District Test Coordinator

Throughout my education career, I have had the opportunity to work with many great students, staff members, and families. During my experience in education, I attained my bachelor's degree in elementary education from Western Montana College in Dillon, Montana. From there, I began my professional career working in Fort Smith, Montana, where I taught a combination classroom of third, fourth, and fifth grade students. When my husband got a job in Great Falls, Montana, I began teaching at Sacajawea Elementary School. I have taught combination classrooms, 2/3 and 3/4. I have also taught fourth grade and third grade. I have taught summer school students in grades 2-6. In addition, I have been on a variety of curriculum committees and played a part in many leadership roles in my current school. Throughout this time, I earned my Masters Degree in the art of Education from Grand Canyon University. After completing my program, I chose to return to school and begin my administrative degree. In October of 2006 I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a second master's degree in administration. I am now pursuing a dream of mine to become an elementary principal.

On a more personal note…I feel fortunate to have so much to celebrate! Not only I am excited about being the principal at your school, my family is excited to be moving to Alaska. My husband Matt, my son Guy, and my daughter Hailey, will be joining me in Unalaska. Guy will begin second grade and Hailey will be in preschool in the fall.

I am looking forward to arriving in Unalaska to begin my new position as principal for the 2007-2008 school year.
