Teachers schedule a regular class time at the beginning of the school year. The classes come once a week for half of an hour. Kindergarten through 2nd grade have storytime, followed by a check-out. Third and fourth grade use their time to browse and check books in and out. The teachers may also schedule additional research time in the library.

The scheduling of classes for research is an important library priority. For this reason, it may be necessary for the library to be closed to the general student body during lunch periods if a class is scheduled for that time. It may also, at times, limit the availability of library space for individual students sent by teachers for research or other purposes.
